At the top, bracketing a photo taken by Hastings Voice of 'the stars of the show ...' *cough ahem* are two of the birds that a local hawking outfit "1066 Falconry" had with them. The feathers of the owl are stupendously soft! I knew they were, but to actually feel them really brings it home.  The birds are hand-reared and were very well habituated to people so did not cause any fuss and muss and were just beautiful.
Bottom left is our ride home ... yeah, right!  If you follow the back-end of the batmobile our pitch was just behind the screen you can see - so if they'd sparked it up we'd have been toast in short order
Then there's our pitch, from which Haribo sweeties, Maltesers and Minstrels were distributed.  Oh, and we also sold some books
